Chef Tormolino and Chef Naveira exclusive dinner at Sensi restaurant in Amalfi

The beautiful Amalfi Coast will be the setting for chefs Samuel Naveira (Rte. MU.NA* – Ponferrada – Spain) and Alessandro Tormolino (Rte. Sensi* – Amalfi – Italy) to cook together on October 21 in an exclusive dinner at the Sensi restaurant in Amalfi.

Last February 22, both chefs had already had the opportunity to cook together for the first time at the MU.NA restaurant (Ponferrada – Spain). With the upcoming dinner in Amalfi, the circle will be closed in which the El Bierzo-born chef will bring his expressive cuisine to Italy to showcase some of our country’s best products elaborated by this renowned Spanish chef. At the previous dinner held in Spain, Alessandro revealed to diners who booked a table the magic of his dishes with all the freshness and richness of Mediterranean cuisine.

Samuel Naveira, trained in some of the best restaurants in our country, received the baptism of French cuisine very early on; among his merits, he was named one of the hundred young talents of the national gastronomy by the Basque Culinary Center and was considered one of the young chefs with greater projection by The Guardian (UK). In December 2020, MU.NA was awarded its first Michelin star, which it still holds. He works with a precise connection to his land, describing in each dish he prepares the flavor of local products grown and raised with respect for nature; it was this chef’s philosophy that earned him recognition at the world’s most important professional cooking congress, naming him among the winners of the Aquanaria Madrid Fusion sustainability award. In his dishes one notices nods to the mythical dishes of Leonese cuisine with contemporary elaborations with impeccable technique and a distinct Gallic personality.

Alessandro Tormolino began his professional career in 2002 in traditional Campanian restaurants, his next step in 2006 was haute cuisine, joining the team at QuaQro Passi* (Nerano-Italy). His experience in the same year at Mirazur*- Mauro Colagreco (Menton-France) was decisive for his career and cooking style, In 2007 he moved on to La Tenda Rossa** (Florence-Italy), to continue learning at Il Busco* (Sorrento-Italy). His desire to learn about Italian haute cuisine led him to join the team of Vissani** (Baschi-Italy), where he remained as head chef until 2011, when he joined the kitchens of Don Alfonso 1890** (Sant’Agata su I due Golfi). In 2012, he decided to go to the United Kingdom to work at Locanda Locatelli** (London), a place he left in 2014 to take his first executive chef position at QuaQro Passi restaurant (London). In 2017 and after many years of experience he decided to open Sensi restaurant in Amalfi (Campania-Italy), with his new project he won the international award “La Liste” 2019, in 2022 he won the first MICHELIN Star.
