Best Restaurants in Southern Europe: Chef Tormolino honored by La Liste
A new international achievement celebrates the excellence of Sensi and the best of Italian cuisine: Chef Alessandro Tormolino of Sensi Restaurant in Amalfi has been honored by La Liste as one of the Best Restaurants in Southern Europe, during the event held on November 24th to mark the 10th anniversary of the renowned French gastronomic guide.
The award was presented in Paris during La Liste’s anniversary Gala, an annual gathering that brings together the very elite of the global culinary world. For Chef Tormolino, this recognition marks an important milestone in a journey of continuous growth—one that began in 2019 with the Young Chefs Award and has since evolved through a culinary style that La Liste describes as “a new vision of Mediterranean purity.”
The guide portrays Sensi as a restaurant where nature is the true protagonist. Here, cuisine becomes storytelling, balance and technique, shaped by nearly twenty years of Chef Tormolino’s experience alongside some of the most celebrated masters of contemporary gastronomy.
Being named among the Best Restaurants in Southern Europe confirms Sensi’s role on the international culinary stage and highlights Chef Tormolino’s ability to transform Mediterranean tradition into a personal, innovative language.
“This recognition is a tremendous honor and an inspiration to continue the path of research I have embraced,” says Chef Tormolino. “My cuisine constantly pushes one step further in exploring natural flavors and elevating the essence of each ingredient. It is a cuisine born from the nature and the light of the Amalfi Coast, and bringing this identity to an international stage is a true source of pride.”
